General Zod, specifically the armored version portrayed in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), is a Kryptonian military leader. His first appearance in the DCEU was in the film Man of Steel (2013), where he served as the primary antagonist.

In Man of Steel, Zod arrives on Earth seeking to terraform the planet into a new Krypton, clashing with Superman (Kal-El), the last son of Krypton. Their conflict results in significant destruction, culminating in Superman being forced to kill Zod to save humanity.

Zod's body was subsequently used in experiments, leading to the creation of Doomsday in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016). However, a version of Zod, played again by Michael Shannon, returns in The Flash (movie) (2023), further exploring his character within the altered timeline of the DCEU.
